  Sca-1 + /CD31 - cardiac progenitor cells were isolated from dissociated mouse heart tissue by using the Cardiac Progenitor Isolation Kit (Sca-1), an LS and an MS Column, a MidiMACS™ and a MiniMACS™ Separator. The cells were fluorescently stained with Anti-Biotin-FITC (# 130-090-857) and Anti-Sca-1-APC (# 130-093-223) and analyzed by flow cytometry using the MACSQuant ® Analyzer. Cell debris and dead cells were excluded from the analysis based on scatter signals and propidium iodide fluorescence.
