The Neutrophil Isolation Kit has been developed for the isolation of untouched neutrophils from mouse bone marrow or blood cell suspensions.

Background information

Neutrophils are essential for host defense against invading pathogens. They are phagocytic polymorphonuclear cells, which engulf and degrade microorganisms using a wide range of toxic agents including reactive oxygen species, antimicrobial peptides, and proteases. Besides, neutrophils can produce anti-inflammatory molecules and factors that promote the resolution of inflammation.

Detailed separation procedure

Non-neutrophils are incubated with a cocktail of biotinylated antibodies and Anti-Biotin MicroBeads for depletion.

Functional studies on neutrophils.

Neutrophils were isolated from C57BL/6 bone marrow cells using the Neutrophil Isolation Kit, mouse, an LS Column, and a MidiMACS Separator. Cells were fluorescently stained with Anti-Ly-6G-PE and CD11b-FITC. Cell debris and dead cells were excluded from the analysis based on scatter signals and PI fluorescence.
