Background information

CD294, also known as CRTH2, is a receptor for prostaglandin D

₂

. CD294 is expressed on T helper type 2 (T

_H

2) cells, a subpopulation of CD4

⁺

T cells, but is not present on T

_H

1 cells. CD294 is highly expressed on peripheral blood basophils and eosinophils. Furthermore, it is present on a small population of CD8

⁺

T cells as well as on a subpopulation of dendritic cells.

For isolation of the CD294

⁺

T helper cell subset, the CD294 (CRTH2) MicroBead Kit can be combined with the CD4

⁺

T Cell Isolation Kit or the CD4 MultiSort Kit. A special protocol is available.

The CD294

cells are fluorescently and indirectly magnetically labeled with CD294-PE and Anti-PE MicroBeads.
